About

We are high school students raising money for ALS research.

ALS Forward was started in 2025 by Aryav Das, a senior at Park Tudor School in Indianapolis, and Samarth Dunakhe, a senior at Arizona College Prep in Chandler.

01 / How it started

It began as our ISEF project.

Our research used machine learning and molecular docking to study PT150 as a possible treatment for ALS. In May 2025 it won first place in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.

We wanted to keep working on ALS after the fair, so we started ALS Forward to raise money for research and patient care. Everything we raise goes to the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

What we are doing now.

We run fundraisers in Indiana and Arizona, like our pickleball tournament in Gilbert and the Chipotle night in Noblesville on September 19. We also present ALS Forward at our schools.

We are reaching out to foundations and local businesses about funding the three programs in our white paper.
